The Marriott Syracuse Downtown, a beautifully restored historic hotel in downtown Syracuse, provided the perfect setting for Alexandra and Robert’s elegant celebration. Their reception took place in the Finger Lakes Ballroom, a 2,080-square-foot room boasting a sky-painted ceiling, huge arched mirrors, intricate chandeliers, tall windows, and historic columns.
With meticulous planning by MLH Events, the ballroom was transformed into a vision of romance and sophistication. White-clothed tables were paired with gold chiavari chairs, towering centerpieces of baby’s breath, and flickering white candles. Even the dance floor was personalized with a custom monogram of the couple’s initials.
The bride, Alexandra, looked radiant in a magnificent gown featuring an extraordinarily long, sparkling train, complemented by a matching tiara that sparkled with every turn. Her look perfectly captured the glamorous spirit of the day.
Lastly, Envision Entertainment and Events provided the lighting for the reception, which included elegant uplighting that accentuated the perimeter of the room and highlighted the architectural details. Every detail worked together to create a sophisticated and memorable atmosphere for Alexandra and Robert’s special day.
A Magical First Dance in the Clouds

As the band began to play “Everybody Loves Somebody” by Dean Martin, the newlyweds took to the dance floor and were surrounded by a swirling cloud of mist. This “dancing on a cloud” effect, created with low-lying fog and expertly placed lighting, made it seem as if the couple was gliding across a sea of clouds. The effect was both romantic and ethereal, adding a hint of magic to their first dance as husband and wife.
But the enchantment didn’t stop there. As Alexandra and Robert swayed to the music, three fountains of cold sparklers erupted behind them, creating a shower of light. It was a stunning and dramatic visual effect that definitely wowed their guests.

We used a variety of moving head fixtures to wash the dance floor in rich, saturated colors.
