I knew leading up to Emma & Kyle’s wedding it was going to be an absolutely amazing day. Picking the lovely Sinclair of Skaneateles was the first of many good choices they made in picking a venue for their Skaneateles wedding!
I love to play a part in both the ceremony and reception, because I get to see it all come together. From the moment I arrived on site at the venue, Adrianne of AMK Floral was setting the beautiful floral on the arbor of the Sinclair’s dreamy ceremony location. Alexandra of Alexandra Meseke Photography was already out on the grounds taking photos of the wedding party. I can’t wait to see Alexandra’s photos; I just know they are going to be as great as it was to work with her for the first time! As soon as I step inside The Sinclair, more AMK’s floral looked so lovely on the tables and caught my eye immediately.
After a quick setup indoors, I went back out to the ceremony location where we had a lovely ceremony dodging raindrops long enough to have an outdoor cocktail hour on the back patio. At the conclusion of cocktail time, guests came back inside the banquet area to witness the wedding party introductions. As one big group, I introduced the wedding party to the guests. After meeting the wedding party, it was Emma & Kyle’s time to shine and make their way down the Sinclair stairs and join their guests. I introduced the day’s newest couple to Barenaked Ladies song “If I Had $1,000,000.” After the huge applause died down, Kyle welcomed his guests and ended his welcome by saying it was time to dance with his wife. We witnessed the most beautiful first dance with Emma’s cousin Matt singing a cover of “Forever Like That” by Ben Rector. The huge applause once again filled the room at the end of the first dance; Matt nailed it! After the first dance, we were presented with the evening’s toasts that led us into the dinner hour.
We had the most wonderful meal from Rosalie’s Cucina, the in-house caterer of The Sinclair, and my chicken and pasta dish was incredible! After we fished our dinners, Emma and Kyle snuck off to cut their cake with Alexandra to capture this moment, complete with the use of Emma & Kyle’s Naval sword to cut the cake, and I have to admit, this was a first for me to witness in all my years of doing weddings, and I loved it! After cake cutting, Emma once again took center stage on the dance floor to dance with her father, Stephen ,dancing to “Forever Now” by Michael Bublé. After the father daughter dance, Kyle made his way out to dance with his lovely mother, Terri, dancing to Josh White Jr.’s “Think.”
After all the formalities where over, it was time to cut loose and dance, and dance they sure did! A wide mix of 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and a lot of 2000’s pop tracks worked great. I loved watching Kyle’s aunts lead the way on the dance floor doing “The Hustle” dance by Van McCoy. What a huge hit with the crowd! Right to the end of the night, the dance floor was packed with Emma and Kyle surrounded with their family and friends. Noah Reid’s song “Simply the Best” from the show Schitt’s Creek had everyone slow dancing at the end, followed with a huge encore of Walk The Moon’s “Shut Up and Dance” that erupted the dance floor once again! Ending the night was a perfect song, “Closing Time” by Semisonic. I couldn’t have thought of a more perfect ending to the most perfect of days!
