Jessica and Jeff’s August wedding at the Springside Inn in the Finger Lakes, NY, was a day filled with sunshine, sunflowers, and a whole lot of love. Springside Inn, located in the Finger Lakes region, is a historic and charming spot for any special occasion. Right across from the western shore of Owasco Lake, this red, colonial-style house has a cozy, bed-and-breakfast vibe, which was just right for Jessica and Jeff’s relaxed and fun wedding. With a relaxed, family-friendly vibe and a hopping dance floor, the whole day was a joyful celebration of love.

A Closer Look at Jessica and Jeff’s Big Day

The Ceremony

Jessica and Jeff’s ceremony took place in the Grove, the two-acre wooded area tucked behind the Inn. It’s a naturally pretty spot, with open grassy areas, clusters of white hydrangeas, and plenty of trees providing shade. It felt private and intimate, which was exactly what they were hoping for. They’d mentioned wanting the whole wedding to feel more like a fun celebration than a stiff, formal affair, and the ceremony definitely set that tone. You could tell how happy they were, and that feeling was contagious.

Jessica walked down the aisle to “Once Upon a Dream” by Lana Del Rey. It was a sweet, romantic choice that fit the overall vibe perfectly. Sunflowers were a big part of their wedding theme, and they looked stunning in the ceremony setting. Jessica carried a beautiful bouquet made entirely of sunflowers, and they also used them to decorate the aisles and the altar. It was a simple but impactful way to bring their personal style into the space and add a vibrant pop of color to the natural surroundings. The bright yellow of the sunflowers against the green grass and white hydrangeas created a really beautiful and cheerful atmosphere.

The Reception

After the ceremony, guests moved inside the Inn to the Heritage Room for the reception. This expansive ballroom is an impressive space, with intricate molding, 20-foot ceilings, and elegant chandeliers. The soft, neutral color palette created a warm and relaxed atmosphere. Since Jessica and Jeff wanted a family-friendly celebration, kids were welcome, and the whole vibe was fun, welcoming, and lighthearted.

Their first dance was to Etta James’ classic “At Last”, a timeless and romantic choice. After their dance, several family members and close friends gave toasts to the happy couple as they sat at their sweetheart’s table. Then, it was time for dinner, served buffet-style and catered by the venue. The food was delicious, and everyone seemed to enjoy the casual, family-style meal.

The cake cutting was another sweet moment, set to the playful tune of “Why Do Fools Fall in Love.” And then, it was time for the dance floor to open! The music for the evening was a mix of 70s and 80s Motown, which had everyone up and dancing. The dance floor was packed all night, and it was clear everyone was having a great time celebrating Jessica and Jeff. The grand finale was Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” the perfect, romantic way to end a day filled with so much celebration and love.

The Couple’s Review of Envision Entertainment

Here’s what Jessica and Jeff had to say about working with Envision for their big day:

Paul M. was the DJ for our wedding in Auburn, NY. We met several times to discuss options, the songs we wanted to play, and any emcee duties we need Paul to perform. We met over Zoom for everyone’s convenience to go over last-minute details. We requested Motown and 80’s music for a family-friendly wedding. We listed some songs we would like him to play. Paul remembered all the songs we listed, even as I had forgotten most of them. He took requests from our guests. We received lots of compliments from those at our wedding as to the quality of Paul’s playlists, his flow throughout the event, and his emcee duties. Paul was friendly and knowledgeable. We would hire Paul again in a second. Highly recommend. Great DJ!
