On May 20th, 2023, Sydney and Brady exchanged vows and threw the party of a lifetime at the beautiful Inn at Taughannock Falls. This luxury hotel, set amidst the breathtaking scenery of Taughannock Falls State Park near Ithaca, NY, boasts a sprawling 12-acre estate with stunning lake views. For their special day, Sydney and Brady took advantage of the Inn’s expansive outdoor event space – the largest in the Northeast – exchanging vows within a beautifully decorated tent.

The Ceremony
Sydney and Brady’s ceremony and reception both took place in the Inn at Taughannock Falls’s spacious outdoor sailcloth tent, which is equipped with a full bar, outdoor kitchen, and custom stone fireplace. Inside the tent, the high ceilings were decorated with strings of white paper lanterns and chandeliers, while greenery draped the tent poles, adding a natural touch.
A light rain began to fall as the ceremony started, but the wedding party fully embraced the unexpected with matching clear umbrellas as they made their entrance. The bridesmaids’ bouquets, created by the talented Arnold’s Flower Shop, were filled with soft blues, whites, and greens. The florals really stood out among the bridal party’s classy champagne-hued dresses. Sydney and Brady’s large wedding party, including their “bombers of honor” and “cousins of honor,” surrounded them with love as they exchanged heartfelt vows beneath a white floral arch.
Cocktail Hour
As the rain subsided, guests were able to venture outside and enjoy the Inn at Taughannock Falls’s beautiful outdoor spaces. The stone patio and its massive fireplace provided cozy spots to mingle and enjoy the fresh air during cocktail hour.
Guests were treated to a delicious array of seafood-themed hors d’oeuvres, including fresh shrimp, oysters, clams, and mussels, complementing the waterfront setting. Overflowing carefully arranged charcuterie boards and a variety of passed appetizers made sure there was something to offer for everyone. Meanwhile, Sydney and Brady’s signature cocktails, the “Marry Me Moscow Mule” and the “Call Me Old Fashioned,” were crowd favorites, adding a unique and personal touch to the celebration.
The Reception
As the sun began to set, the tent transformed into an elegant reception space. Guests found their seats at beautifully decorated tables with white linens, gold place settings, and colorful floral centerpieces accented with blue candles. Gold details added a touch of warmth throughout the space.
Before dinner, Sydney and Brady took to the dance floor for a romantic first dance to an acoustic version of “No One” by Alicia Keys. This was followed by heartfelt toasts from loved ones, a touching father-daughter dance to “There Goes My Life” by Kenny Chesney, and a sweet mother-son dance to “Never Alone” by Jim Brickman and Lady A. Guests enjoyed a delicious dinner as the celebration continued.
After dinner, guests had a fun surprise in store – a unique way to leave their well-wishes for the happy couple. A small table draped in white linen featured a Love After Tone audio guestbook, framed by a charming sign and a vase filled with colorful flowers mirroring the day’s palette. This innovative guestbook is a vintage phone that allows guests to record short voice messages for the newlyweds. People lined up to share heartfelt congratulations, funny memories, and words of advice, adding a personal and lasting touch to the celebration.
The Dance Floor
As night fell, the tent transformed into a vibrant dance party illuminated by twinkling string lights. The upbeat playlist drew guests of all ages to the dance floor. Even Sydney and Brady’s youngest guests, adorably sporting pajamas, joined the celebration alongside their most experienced party-goers. The energy reached its peak with the grand finale of “Love Story” by Taylor Swift, which had the crowd singing along, followed by the hit “All Night” by Icona Pop. The celebrations weren’t over yet, as guests were then invited to continue the fun at an after-party across the street at the Hillside Residence, another beautiful part of the Inn at Taughannock Falls.
