Envision Entertainment and Events had the best time celebrating with Melissa and Jeremy at their late June wedding! For their venue, they chose the Otesaga Resort, a Cooperstown landmark that truly lives up to its reputation. From the romantic East Veranda to the grandeur of the Grand Ballroom, The Otesaga offers a variety of elegant spaces, each with its own unique charm. Melissa and Jeremy’s wedding was filled with these magical moments, and we’re excited to share all the details.
A Lakeside Wedding at The Otesaga
The Ceremony
The ceremony took place outdoors, taking full advantage of the venue’s lakeside views. With the shimmering waters of Otsego Lake as their backdrop, Melissa and Jeremy’s ceremony was picture-perfect from the start. A trio of violinists provided beautiful music as the ceremony began.
The procession started with the flower girl and ring bearer, who made their way down the aisle, which was lined with white rose petals. All eyes were on Melissa as she was escorted by both of her parents to the classic Canon in D. She was radiant in a white gown and veil, carrying a bouquet of white and pink roses by A Rose is a Rose Florist.
The wedding party wore pink, which tied in perfectly with the flowers and added a summery vibe. Jeremy waited for his bride at the altar, beneath a white wooden frame decorated with roses. Melissa’s uncle officiated the ceremony, which included a Unity Glass Ceremony that added a really unique and personal touch.
Cocktail Hour
The celebration continued outdoors on the East Veranda, where guests could soak up the sunshine and those incredible lakeside views. There were large displays of delicious appetizers, including grilled vegetables and a tempting assortment of cheeses – something for everyone to enjoy while mingling.
Melissa and Jeremy worked with Envision to create the perfect cocktail hour playlist. Their selection of Motown and R&B classics had everyone tapping their toes and setting a relaxed but upbeat mood as guests sipped on drinks and enjoyed each other’s company.
Reception
After cocktail hour, everyone moved indoors to the spacious ballroom for the reception. With its soaring 20-foot ceilings, elegant Doric columns, and intricate lattice-work panels, the room was a stunning setting for the rest of the celebration.
The reception décor was picture-perfect, thanks to the event planner, Terra Rosa. Classic white tablecloths were accented by gold vases filled with roses, and guests were seated on stylish gold chavari chairs with white seats. Every detail, from the linens to the centerpieces, was carefully chosen to complement the wedding’s overall aesthetic.
The reception kicked off with a burst of energy as the wedding party made their grand entrance. Their fun, lighthearted entrances, set to Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop the Feeling,” had everyone laughing and cheering. Then, it was Melissa and Jeremy’s turn. They entered to thunderous applause and headed straight to the dance floor for their first dance as a married couple. “Diamonds or Twine” by Ryan Hurd was the perfect choice, setting a romantic tone for the celebration to come.
Dinner was served, and the happy couple enjoyed the view from their sweetheart table as they listened to heartfelt toasts from family and friends. For this portion of the evening, they had specifically requested upbeat country music, and it was the perfect choice! The lively tunes kept the energy high as everyone enjoyed their meal.
The Dance Floor
After dinner, it was time for some more special dances. Melissa shared a sweet first dance with her father to “Daddy Dance with Me” by Krystal Keith, followed by the mother-son dance to “Days Like This” by Van Morrison.
Once those special moments were complete, the dance floor officially opened, and the party kicked into high gear! Envision kept the energy soaring with a mix of Melissa and Jeremy’s favorite songs, including “Copperhead Road” by Steve Earle (always a crowd-pleaser!) As the night went on, the music transitioned to high-energy party anthems from artists like Black Eyed Peas, Justin Timberlake, and Pitbull.
Once the sun went down, the party moved outside for a quick surprise. Guests were given sparklers so that they could surround the newlyweds with a shower of light! It was a magical moment and a perfect photo op.
Back inside, the dancing continued, and Envision closed out the night with two classics: “Piano Man” by Billy Joel and “Shout” by The Isley Brothers. It was the perfect way to end an unforgettable celebration.
