Newly married couple making a grand entrance

Summer in the Country: Halle and Brian’s Wedding at Old Hickory Farm

Halle and Brian’s summer wedding at Old Hickory Farm took barn-themed weddings to the next level. Spanning 55 acres of land in upstate NY, the former horse-riding arena has been transformed into a dreamy rustic wedding venue. Halle and Brian’s wedding fully embraced the venue’s country roots, from the outdoor ceremony in front of a peaceful pond, all the way to the barbecue dinner inside the barn. And of course, the party really got going with a packed and high-energy dance floor, courtesy of Envision Entertainment & Events.

The Ceremony

The big day started with an outdoor ceremony, taking place in front of a quaint pond on the venue’s property. In front of the pond, a beautifully crafted wooden altar stood ready, with the water as a peaceful backdrop. Small mason jars of flowers hung from the matching wooden pews and bouquets of colorful lilies framed the altar, all thanks to Michaleen’s Florist & Greenhouse.

The processional music was spot-on: grandparents and the groomsmen, including Brian, made their way down the aisle from the barn to an instrumental version of “10,000 Hours.” The bridesmaids followed, floating down the aisle to Taylor Swift’s “Wildest Dreams.” And then, the moment everyone was waiting for: Halle’s entrance to Ruelle’s “I Get to Love You.” She looked absolutely radiant, carrying a matching bouquet of those vibrant lilies.

Cocktail Hour

After the ceremony, guests made their way from the pond area to the space outside the barn, soaking up the late afternoon sunshine. Envision played an upbeat mix of country, pop, and 80s tunes to set the mood. It was the perfect spot for cocktail hour, and Halle and Brian made sure everyone had plenty to sip on.

They offered two signature drinks: “The Maui,” a refreshing mix of vodka, cranberry juice, peach schnapps, and orange juice, and “The Pin Seeker,” a bolder concoction with Jack Daniels, bitters, sugar, and cherry. And for those opting for something non-alcoholic, there were some special creations on offer as well. Guests mingled, enjoyed a variety of appetizers, and celebrated the newlyweds before heading inside for the reception.

The Reception

After cocktail hour, the party headed inside the barn, which had been completely transformed for the reception. The high ceiling was draped with white linens, and string lights added a warm glow. Greenery and candles added a touch of natural beauty, while the wooden tables, with pops of pink napkins and rustic wood slice centerpieces, perfectly complemented the barn’s charm.

The grand entrances were a blast! Each couple in the wedding party made their way in to Ozzy Osbourne’s “Crazy Train”, followed by the official introduction of Halle and Brian as a married couple to a pumped-up remix of Post Malone’s “Congratulations.”

The night kicked off with the first dances. Halle and Brian swayed to “Tough Ones” by Cooper Alan, followed by a sweet father-daughter dance to Steven Curtis Chapman’s “I Believe in You,” and a mother-son dance to Lee Brice’s “Boy.”

Dinner was a buffet-style feast featuring barbecue classics like pulled pork, brisket, mac and cheese, and all the fixings, catered by Moony’s BBQ. Throughout dinner, a mix of country, pop, and 80s tunes played softly in the background as family and friends shared some lovely toasts to the happy couple.

The Dance Floor

To get the party truly started, Halle and Brian planned some fun games that had everyone laughing and energized. The shoe game was a hit, and the reverse generations dance got people of all ages on their feet. They even had Envision invite all the engaged couples out on the floor for a special dance!

Once the dance floor officially opened, it was non-stop. The crowd was a whirlwind of energy, dancing to a mix of tunes that kept the party going all night. Some highlights included Brian’s favorite, “All the Small Things,” and Halle’s go-to, “Love Story” by Taylor Swift. And of course, there was a rambunctious round of “Thunderstruck” that had everyone singing. The dance floor was one giant party, a sea of happy faces and some seriously impressive dance moves.

As the night drew to a close, the grand finale was an extended version of “Friends in Low Places.” It was the perfect way to bring everyone together, swaying and singing along arm in arm. Finally, Halle and Brian made their grand exit, surrounded by the glow of a sparkler send-off, the perfect ending to a perfect day.

The Couple’s Review of Envision Entertainment

Here’s what Halle and Brian had to say about working with Envision for their big day:

Paul was AMAZING to work with! We had multiple planning meetings with him leading up to the wedding day. He took the time to get to know us as a couple and was always there to guide us if we were stuck on any song selections. Overall, start to finish we loved working with Paul! We are a week after our wedding and we still have guests talking about how great the music was! Thank you Paul!
