Venue & Vendor Team
On this perfect fall September day at the Ithaca wedding venue Inn at Taughannock Falls we celebrated the marriage of Alexa and Michael. For their wedding ceremony and reception, I provided wedding DJ services as well as our Selfie Station Photo Booth. Our day started out with guests arriving to the wedding ceremony sites next to the Inn at Taughannock State Park where I had already had complete wedding ceremony sound discreetly hidden on the wedding ceremony location. Before taking my spot to run ceremony sound, I checked in with my wedding photographer Emma of EKF Studios, a New England based photographer. Emma was all set to go in place, so I was good to start the processional music for the wedding party to make their entrance into the park. Alexa and Michael’s ceremony was a beautiful intimate ceremony on the lower falls at the park complete with the most beautiful wedding vows they shared with each other. After the wedding party recessional, we were all welcomed to the cocktail hour location in front of the Enchantment Gardens stone fireplace back at the Inn.
Cocktail Hour & First Dance
As guests mingled the sounds of the instrumental cocktail music played until they were invited inside for the wedding reception portion of the evening. As everyone made their way into the Enchantment Garden tented reception area, I got all the Alexa & Michael staged for their wedding party introductions. Guests got excited as I welcomed Alexa and Michael into their reception, and they weaved through the crowd to make their way to the center of the dance floor where I handed them a microphone to share a few quick words expressing gratitude to all their guest for being there to spend this special day with them. After a speaking Alexa and Michael shared their first dance with each other to “The Book of Love” by Gavin James that ended with a huge ovation from their guest.
Dinner, Toast, Parent Dances & Dancing
After the first dance guests remained seated as we were presented with our two toasts of the evening given by Alexa and Michael’s parents. Once toast were complete we sat for the wonderful meal provided by the Inn and the a lot of songs similar to my Spotify “Sing-Alongs” playlist played in in the background. As dinner came to an end, I directed guests attention back to the center of the dance floor where Michael danced with his Mother to “The Windmills of Your Mind” By Noel Harrison. At the end of the song, I welcomed Alexa back out to the dance floor to join her father as they began to dance to “Isn’t She Lovely” by Stevie Wonder. Once parent dances had finished, we had a quick cake cutting for Alexa & Michael as they took their ceremonial first cut of the cake as “This Will Be” by Natalie Cole played in the background. After the cake was cut there was nothing left to do but dance the night away. The dance floor was packed as guest danced away to a wide mix of oldies and modern pop track as can be heard on my Live Soundcloud Mix from the wedding. The night came to an end with Alexa and Michael surrounded on the dance floor by family and friends as “Last Dance” by Donna Summer closed out the night.
