Venue & Vendor Team
On this beautiful June day at the Skaneateles wedding venue The Kester Homestead we celebrated the marriage of Klyie and Mitch. For their wedding ceremony and reception, I provided wedding DJ services as well as wedding décor uplighting in the reception area. Our day started out with guests arriving to the wedding ceremony sites at Kester known as the Woodland Cathedral where I had already had complete wedding ceremony sound discreetly hidden on the wedding ceremony grounds. Before taking my spot to run ceremony sound, I checked in with my wedding photography and videography team. Kylene Lynn a Syracuse wedding photographer and Justin Mayer Video a Skaneateles wedding videographer were the wedding vendor team to help me with ceremony coverage. Kylie and Mitch’s ceremony was a beautiful intimate ceremony in the woods complete with the most beautiful written vows to each other. After the wedding party recessional, we were all welcomed to the cocktail hour location on the grounds the Wild Garden.
Cocktail, Introductions & First Dance
As guests mingled, my Alternative Indie Rock Playlist , which I shared on Spotify, was playing in the background until guests were invited inside for the wedding reception portion of the evening. As everyone made their way into the Gambrel Barn, I got all the wedding party staged for their wedding party introductions. Guests got excited as I welcomed in the wedding party with the conclusion of Kylie and Mitch making their way to the middle of the dance floor to share their first dance together after a quick welcoming speech by the couple to express their gratitude and thank their wedding guests for sharing the special day with them. For the first dance the swan song “Simply the Best” of the Canadian Television series “Schiit’s Creek sung by Canadian musician Noah Reid.
Dinner & Dancing
Transitioning from first dance we all sat for a wonderful meal provided by Skaneateles wedding catering service Scratch Farmhouse. Soundtrack for dinner was also one of my Spotify playlists picked by the couple Chill & Acoustic Wedding Dinner Music. As dinner came to an end we enjoyed the ceremonial first cut of the Syracuse wedding bakery cake made by The Sweet Praxis. After Kylie and Mitch finished the wedding cake cutting it was time for a parent dances. Kylie and her father Jim were first to dance to their Father Daughter dance to Tony Bennett “The Way You Look Tonight” and Mitch and his mother had their Mother Son dance together to Iron & Wine cover “Time After Time”. After parent dances were over there was nothing left to do for the guests but to dance the night away to a wide mix of Oldies, Motown, Pop, and current hits that was just great wedding dance music! As the night came to closure one of the last songs we heard was the timeless classic of Journey “Don’t Stop Believing” with the night coming around full circle from the couple’s first dance ending with Tina Turner “The Best”. This fun wedding DJ dance set can be hear in full on my Soundcloud account on the titled track “Envision Entertainment 6-4-22 Live Wedding Dance Mix”.
