Venue, Vendor Team and CEremony
On this lovely summer day at the Sterling, NY wedding venue Colloca Estate Winery we celebrated the marriage of Taylor & Michael. For Taylor & Michaels’s wedding ceremony and reception, I provided wedding DJ services as well as our one of our most popular enhancements couples choose which is our “Full Accent Room” uplighting package. Our day started out with guests arriving to Colloca for an outdoor ceremony with the Fair Haven Bay waters making a perfect background for the guests viewing the ceremony. I had already completed setting up wedding ceremony sound discreetly hidden in the back of the ceremony aisle. Before taking my spot to run ceremony sound, I checked in with my wedding photographer Laura of Laura Rose Weddings a NY based but available worldwide (who’s beautiful photos are seen in this very blogpost) before next making one last check in with my days wedding planner Adrianne of AMK Floral who also provided the floral (seen in the blog pictures and video) along with her wedding planning services. AMK Floral is a Syracuse based floral service as well as all in one event planner service that helped guide all of us vendors flawlessly through the day and was a huge help to me staging all the moments, I had to incorporate in the day’s timeline. After checking in with my vendor team the ceremony began the Elvis cover of “Can’t Help Falling in Love” by Kiana Grannis so the wedding party could make their entrance. After vows to each other, ring exchange and a kiss Taylor and Michael led the wedding party out to start the beginning of cocktail hour.
Cocktail, Introductions & First Dance and Dinner
As guests mingled, I had made my way back up to the reception spot to start the music to play as guests socialized for the cocktail hour. As cocktail came to an end guests were invited to their seats which lined around the center of the huge dancefloor and the upper balcony of Colloca’s beautiful banquet are with the most beautiful crystal chandelier as the focal centerpiece of the room. Just before everyone had taken their seats, I had gotten Taylor and Michael as well as their wedding party staged to make their grand entrance into the reception. Guests were over the top excited as the newlyweds weaved through the crowd and made their way to the center of the dance floor area and started right in with their first dance “Stand by Me” by Skylar Grey. After I faded out of the first dance song and guests cheered and we transitioned into our first toast during dinner lead of by Taylor’s father Julian and followed by the day’s Best Man and Maid of Honor Mike and Reagan.
Parent Dances and Open Dance Floor
As our wonderful meal provide by Colloca came to an end, we started in with our first parent dance of the evening. First to dance was Taylor and her father Julian dancing to “Tiny Dancer” by Elton John. As Taylor and Julian’s dance came to an end Michael and his mother Carolyn came out for their special moment together. Michael & Carolyn started out dancing to “My Wish” by Rascal Flatts and somewhere in the middle I switched quickly to “Apache” by Sugar Hill Gang and Michael and Carolyn started calling out guests to the dancefloor that quickly filled up and remained that way for the rest of the night! There was a great mix of dance tracks from the 90’s, 2000’s to current that kept everyone in step right up until a great ending with two known singalong tracks first of which being “Mr. Brightside” by The Killers and the last track “Closing Time” by Semisonic.
