On this beautiful spring April day at the Skaneateles wedding venue The Sinclair of Skaneateles we celebrated the marriage of Kate & Eric. For their wedding reception, I provided wedding DJ services and ceremony microphones. Our day started out with guests arriving to the wedding ceremony site behind The Sinclair where I had already had complete wedding ceremony sound discreetly hidden on the wedding ceremony grounds so I could project the loud vocals from my ceremony microphones. Before taking my spot to run ceremony sound, I checked in with my wedding photography and videography team. Garrett Maynard a Rochester based but world traveling wedding photographer and Alek Kammer of Kammer Films a Syracuse based videographer were the wedding vendor team to help me with ceremony coverage. Both the photos of Garret and the video in this blog is the work of Alek’s. I knew it was time to take my spot to run ceremony sound when I heard the beautiful violin music start to be played by Jesse from A Note of Elegance a NY based violinist kicking off the entry of the wedding party into the ceremony. Kate & Eric’s ceremony was a beautiful intimate ceremony that ended with guests cheering as Kate & Eric kissed and made their recessional out of the ceremony leading us into the cocktail hour.
Cocktail Hour, Wedding Party Introductions, First Dance & Parent Dances
As guests mingled, I went into the reception area of The Sinclair and prepared for the reception sound and intros as Jesse played more violin music outside at the back patio cocktail site. The tables and décor around inside looked so beautiful with all the floral Folls Flowers had decorated around the Sinclair. As everyone began taking their seats at the conclusion of cocktail hour, I got all the wedding party staged for their wedding party introductions. Guests got excited as I welcomed in the parents followed by Kate & Eric coming in last as “This Will Be” by Natalie Cole played in the background. Right after the huge applause from Kate & Eric’s introduction the newlyweds went right int the first dance as I hit play on “Better Together” by Luke Combs that was received with an even bigger applause than their introduction. After the applause had died down, I invited Eric’s mother Robin out to the dance floor so she could share her moment with Eric for the Mother Son dance to “Days Like This” by Van Morrison. After Eric and Robin had finished their dance, it was then time for Kate to come back out to the dance floor to join her father, Craig. Father Daughter dance started out with an acoustic cover “Sweet Child of Mine” by Paul Canning, and I startled the guests as I scratched the record and dropped right into the guitar solo of the original “Sweet Child of Mine” by Guns and Roses and Kate and Craig grabbed inflatable air guitars and called out guests to join them and immediately packing our dance floor which turned into a short pre dinner dance set before seating everyone back down for toast.
Toast, Dinner Cake & Dancing
As guests took their seats I started playing music similar to my Spotify playlist, Wedding Dinner – Sing-Alongs Mellow in the background. Halfway through the dinner we all enjoyed a toast from Kate’s father Craig and friend of the couple Jimmy. At the conclusion of dinner Kate and Eric made their way over to the cake table where there was an adorable flower cake with a figurine of Kate and Eric’s fur baby doggie Harper at the base of the cake that was made by Stacey at The Cake Shop CNY. After the cake was cut there was nothing left to do but dance.
