VENUE & VENDOR TEAM
On this warm July day at the Skaneateles wedding venue Sherwood Inn we celebrated the marriage of Summer & Nick. For their Skaneateles wedding ceremony and reception, I provided wedding DJ services complete with ceremony sound and music. Our day started out with guests arriving to the wedding ceremony site in the front lawn right next to the Sherwood behind the fountain of the historic Hannum House. Before anyone had arrived, I had already had complete wedding ceremony sound discreetly hidden in the corner of the Hannum House yard. Before taking my spot to run ceremony sound, I checked in with my wedding photographer Nicole Lagoe a Syracuse based photographer whose photos can be seen as part of this blog. Summer & Nick’s ceremony was a beautiful ceremony that began with Nick walking down the aisle with his parents proceeded by the wedding part and lastly with Summer walking down the aisle with her parents and I changed the song to “Can’t Help Falling in Love” by Kina Grannis. After everyone was settled in, upfront Summer & Nick shared beautiful vows with each other followed by their first kiss as husband and wife. Guest cheered on the newlyweds as they made their recessional out of the ceremony as “Here Comes the Sun” by The Beatles played as the recessional track to lead us into cocktail hour.
Cocktail, Introductions & First Dance
As guests mingled on the side lawn of The Sherwood Inn a lot of songs heard on my Spotify playlist, Wedding Dinner – Rat Pack, Crooners & Italian was the vibe to set the mood for cocktail until guests were invited inside for the wedding reception portion of the evening. As everyone made their way into The Sherwood, I got Summer & Nick staged for their wedding party introductions. Guests got so excited as I welcomed Summer & Nick into their Sherwood Inn wedding reception. Summer & Nick weaved through the crowd making their way to the center of the dance floor to where they shared their first dance together as husband and wife to the song “You’re the One” by Gretta Van Fleet. Summer and Nick’s first dance came to an end with a huge applause as the made their final twirl and went into a perfect dip on the center of the dance floor. Immediately after the first dance Summer was joined on the dance floor with her father Mark where the shared the moment dancing to “In My Life” by The Beatles. At the end of the song, I welcomed Nick back out to the dance floor to join his mother Marissa as they began to dance to “God Only Knows” by The Beach Boys. Mother and Son dance ended with a huge applause and I welcomed both Summer and Nick to their sweetheart table for the first of a few toast before guest where served their dinner while many tracks from my Spotify playlist “Wedding Dinner – Motown & R&B Oldies” played preparing everyone for the dance party that was about to happen.
Dance
As dinner came to an end I started right in with dance music with so many great party tracks that can be heard here from my live performance of the wedding on my SoundCloud mix “7-9-22 Live Wedding Dance Mix”. The dancefloor remained packed for the whole night with “Mr. Brightside” by The Killers playing as the closing track of the evening.
